"What" is qEEG and "Why" Do It?

Quantitative Electroencephalography (qEEG) is an advanced form of EEG where brainwave patterns are recorded, analyzed, and compared against normative databases. Some refer to this as a "Brain Map."

What Does an EEG Look Like?

The image above is an example of an Electroencephalography (EEG). We read this data, look for any potential issues, and then advanced software is used to show us images or pictures for us to better visualize what is happening.

Sometimes people look at this image and relate it to an EKG used for monitoring heart activity. In the same way, we monitor the brain activity by using an EEG.

What Does a Brain Map Look Like?

The image above is an example of an qEEG Brain Map. We look at various brain waves (Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, Gamma) and look for how your brain is working and identify things that may be getting in the way. We read this data, look for any potential issues, and then our advanced software puts the data into colors to show us images or pictures to better visualize what is happening.
